WHY KRTC?

A group of concerned youth established the Kibera Reformation and Transformation Centre (KRTC) in 2003 as a community-based organization (CBO) in Nairobi’s Kibera slums. The founding members wanted to help needy children growing up in an environment of extreme poverty and constant threat of malnutrition, disease, violence, crime, and drug abuse.

Who aere We

In a nutshell the community is underprivileged and exposed to diverse dangers, a condition that necessitated and informed the formation of KRTC by the youth group to address some of these challenges through activities that would divert their attention to criminal activities as well as improve their livelihoods. The group has grown from an informal establishment supporting football activities into a major CBO in Kibera supporting its members with a range of popular livelihood activities.
