MUSIC AND DRAMA IS ONE OF KRTCS’s major programs. In our pursuit to rehabilitate children most of who were without direction, KRTC saw music as an opportunity that would bring many children and young people together. KRTC started by arranging for concerts in kibera Soweto area.
The group would invite more talented musicians to come and train other upcoming musicians. In most cases our leaders would give small gifts to the most deserving performers, this helped to motivate the children to perform better and also to work had.
After many years of training some of KRTC’s musicians became more qualified, this now gave them more skills and talent that helped them to start training others.
Under this program, the group members (about 20 in total) meet during the week and are trained by experienced instructors affiliated with KRTC. Music and drama performances usually take place on Sundays in the meeting hall and are open to the wider community
Through this program KRTC has raised 8 successful musicians, who are regularly broadcast by the media and perform in national and regional concerts. The theatre group performs regularly during national events.

- In photography, we provide complimentary lessons for children under 14 years old. We focus on working with this age group because we believe it is essential to establish a strong foundation in photography at an early age, which will benefit them in the future, given the current economic and employment conditions.
- We work with 30 children from various educational backgrounds and upbringings, all of whom are based in Kibera. Photography has had a profound impact on these children, enabling them to visit new places and meet new people. Our goal is to give them the opportunity to explore a new artistic field. Additionally, photography has taught them about humanity and provided them with a new perspective on life.
The provision and possible expansion of these two programs to avail such opportunities to these deserving but underprivileged members of our society remain our key desire. Our support is though constrained by our limited resources. KRTC lacks the resources to offer enough support in terms of text books, school fees, writing materials and other requirements for all or even a majority of our members. We are therefore looking for partnerships and financial support from well-wishers, NGOs and private companies, both Kenyan and international, to support these two noble projects.
