KRTC’s WATER BUSINESS.
Kibera slum area experiences acute water shortages and disrupted supply. This is an almost daily occurrence. This has resulted in many of the small time businesses and various household activities being grounded. This explains the worsening situation of many household livelihoods in the area. In order to help cub this situation, KRTC started a water business project with the help of 5 youth from the Makina area. This project is hugely benefitting the local community and the small businesses community. Besides the 5 youth employed in the running of this project, the project also provides 100 children who come to play football in the area with the required water, provides an access to free water to the Girl’s Workshop and has also employed 3 trainers in the Girls Workshop.
