KRTC has a programs that is supporting about 35 street children from the streets of Nairobi, we have a support team of three well trained social workers who have been working with them for years and have established trust and good relationships with the kids.
Our working closely with these street children has enabled us to establish more trust with them. They openly discuss issues affecting them with our support team.
Below is a list of helpful activities that we focus on.
- Helping them to feel loved and appreciated
- Supporting them to stop taking drugs
- Talent identification and enhancement
- Personal hygiene and cleanliness
- Regular food support
- Training them in football
- Taking them to children homes
- Re uniting them with their families
- Support with their health.
We do this on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays We aim to achieve our goal by focusing on key popular activities which include counseling, football training, and play, personal hygiene, and providing supplies.
Our target is to better their life and in the long-term re-integrate them with their families and home communities, attach them to NGOs with means to provide them with fully adequate support, and enable them to have better lives.
